"Janssons Frestelse" is a delicious Swedish potato gratin that is perfect for the festive season. With tender potatoes, aromatic onions and hearty anchovies, this dish brings a touch of Scandinavian tradition to your table.

Ingredients
  • 800 g potatoes
  • 2 onions
  • 250 g anchovies + anchovy brine
  • 300 ml cream
  • 150 ml milk
  • 40 g breadcrumbs
  • 75 g salted butter
  • salt & pepper

preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 200 °C.
  2. Assemble the Ankarsrum with the vegetable cutter and the disc drum.
  3. Cut the onions into slices.
  4. Replace the disc drum with the middle grating drum.
  5. Grate the potatoes. Fry the onion in a pan.
  6. Grease the baking dish with butter and add potatoes, onion, anchovies, salt and pepper in three layers one after the other, finishing with a layer of potatoes.
  7. Mix milk, cream, anchovy brine and pepper and pour over the gratin.
  8. Add the breadcrumbs and then cut the butter into thin pieces and add.
  9. Bake in the oven for about 40-50 minutes.
